Hand-Dyed Yarn Info
YARN CARE
Gently hand wash your hand dyed yarn separately in cold water with a wool wash and air dry. After the yarn is dyed it is soaked and rinsed until the water is clear, however, some slight color bleeding may occur with the first wash, particularly with darker colors and especially reds, even after our thorough rinsing process. This is normal and should resolve with the first or second wash. Another tip is to add a small amount of citric acid (approx. 1 tsp, stir until dissolved) to your cold water. You can find citric acid at your local grocery store in the baking aisle. If you're making a high contrast project, steam blocking is recommended.
DYE LOTS
I dye in small batches to keep consistency between dye batches. Given the nature of hand-dyed yarns, each skein will be unique and color saturation can vary from skein to skein, even within the same dye batch. If your project takes more than one skein, it is recommended to alternate skeins every couple rows to prevent any color blocking, however, it is totally your choice. Be creative and have fun!
